I Could've Sworn I Hated Tan Trench Coats
After years of trying to like them and realizing I liked navy, black, and dark green trenches, I bought a tan trench.
Technically speaking it’s a two-tone beige and khaki trench coat. I can’t put it into exact words, but there’s just something that always feels off to me when I (emphasis on I) wear a classic tan trench.
Here are the trench coats I’ve owned, own, and are in my cart.
a classic tan trench
There are so many things I could say about this whole outfit, but we’re going to swiftly move on from that. I bought this trench a few year ago, wore it on my trip to Italy, and never wore it again. Looking back it was fine, but I just knew it didn’t sit right in my closet.
a navy blue trench
Fast forward to 2023, I’m realizing it’s not that I don’t like trench coats, it’s the color I don’t like. I found this vintage Burberry navy gem in store at Amsterdam Vintage Clothing and wore the rest of my trip. Navy definitely takes the lead for my favorite, but I also love this black one.
an olive green trench
And now we have the green trench from Everlane. I definitely wear it more in the fall than spring, and love the way it pairs with browns and creams. Here is the link to mine in case it comes back, but Everlane also has another that's very similar.
a trench from the row
Let a girl dream! I went into Neiman Marcus and strolled over to The Row section and found this coat. I love how pale the color is and the way that it flows (video below). I tried on the only size they had which was an XL, but I like the oversized fit? Maybe I’ll go for a medium or large, but first I need it to drop at least 80% in price.
I love it!
the trench that made me believe again
I saw this coat online when COS dropped it and had been thinking about it ever since. Styling clients in it, seeing it on socials, but still convincing myself I did not like it. Clearly things changed the moment I went into the store and actually tried it on. I loved it online, I loved it in person, and now I love seeing it hang in my closet. I went with a small!
Double checking the next day to make sure I really do like it, and that it wasn’t just good lighting in the dressing room.
I’ve saved these and few extras I like here x
