LONDON GUIDE: MARKETS + OUTDOORS!
Markets and parks you can usually find me at on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in London x
I love a classic Saturday or Sunday morning market > to lunch > to random activity > to pub evening, so here are a few of my favorites to stop by, along with some green spaces.
Netil Market: A bit smaller, and mainly food spots! Traders come and go, but there have been tattoo shops, piercing studios, homeware shops, cafes, and clothing shops when I’ve gone :)
Mare Street Market: Indoor market with a bar + kitchen, floral shop, tattoo shop, outdoor patio/beer garden, deli + cafe, and communal space!
Broadway Market: Street market consisting of shops, cafes, restaurants, crafts, jewelry, and your usual market vendors.
Columbia Road Flower Market: Only open on Sunday and usually quite busy if you’re not there early. This market of course has floral and plant stands, but you’ll find cool shops and cafes along the way as well.
**Netil, Mare, and Broadway are all near each other if you want to knock out all three at once! If you want to go for four on a Sunday you can start at Columbia Road Flower Market, then head to Broadway, followed by Netil and Mare.
Victoria Park Market: A street food market on Saturday and a farmers’ market on Sunday!
Borough Market: You know her, you (sometimes) love her. It’s one of the largest food markets in London, but always worth going to IMO if it’s you’re first time visiting. Matter of fact, I have gone back multiple times to try new things, so!
Camden Market: I was a bit overwhelmed with amount of people in Camden Market, but would go back on a quieter day!
Brick Lane Vintage Market: Exactly what it says! Plenty of vintage clothing to sort through.
Spitalfields Market: A covered market with food stalls and independent traders.
Portobello Road Market: A Notting Hill classic. I usually start at my favorite, Layla Bakery, and make my way from Ladbroke Grove to the main area of shopping on Portobello. I know many people usually start at the opposite end, especially if you’re exiting from the Notting Hill Gate tube stop!
Greenwich Market: Antiques, arts + crafts, clothing, homeware, and of course, food. A perfect addition to add to your afternoon in Greenwich.
Marylebone Farmers’ Market: Just if you happen to be strolling around Marylebone on a Sunday afternoon.
Salad Days Market: A pop up market with a plethora of small businesses! You can stay updated on when and where they’ll be popping up next here.
Primrose Hill: Grab a bite at It’s Bagel’s and head up the hill for a view of London. If It’s Bagels is busy, I usually just grab a treat and flat white at Little Bread Pedlar nearby.
St. James Park: My favorite central park to walk through on an early weekend morning!! During the week is definitely quieter if you happen to be around.
Regent’s Park: Honestly gorgeous and I love that there are always sports being played when I walk through.
Clissold Park: If you happen to be in east London, this is my favorite park in the area! I mentioned before, but I would get a baked good and something to sip on from Spence Bakery or Stokey’s and take it to the park.
