Welcome to the first installment of a month in review. Chatting about anything and everything that happened in the past month whether it be food, fashion, music, beauty, books, hobbies, trips, and anything else that falls under the category of life. Shall we start with October?
MUSIC ON REPEAT
My top artists of the month were definitely (and still are) Leon Bridges and Griff. Leon released a self titled album that may just be my favorite of his. I have yet to listen to every Griff album top to bottom, but I love shuffling all of her discography and hearting my favs as I listen.
One item on my bucket list has always been to attend an outdoor concert at The Salt Shed in Chicago. It’s a phenomenal indoor/outdoor venue hosting various concerts and markets, and even has a few shops along the side when you enter! Check out Umbrella Vintage if you’re ever nearby. Anyways, Mt. Joy (the perfect vibe for this venue) was playing there over a weekend, tickets were under $100, the weather was gorgeous, and it was the last outdoor show of the season. I had no choice but to go! This was my second solo concert (although I did run into some old friends) and I could not have asked for it to have gone better.

CLOTHES, CLOTHES, AND MORE CLOTHES
And when I say more clothes, I’m talking outfit repeating!
I keep a running wardrobe gap list on my phone for spring/summer and fall/winter that I look to when shopping to stay on track. These are items I feel are missing from my closet, or what I think would round it out. I had a fall/winter transition coat on there for quite some time and eventually bought this one. My cost per wear on this coat is already through the roof, and I am so beyond satisfied with this purchase!! I always grab for it and have been wearing it with all outfits– dressed up and dressed down.

As for what I’m coveting, you can see the extensive list here. But at the top are the new Wales Bonner x Adidas samba release. What can I say, I like what I like and a WB collab is always it for me! The brown croc sneak is my favorite.
THE LITTLE THINGS
What I thought was a hobby very quickly turned into creating an Etsy shop and bulk ordering supplies to make more keychains. I shared this video online about making the Miu Miu keychain, a whopping $440, for less and it all spiraled from there. Stay tuned for an Etsy shop update!
As for jewelry, Danniel from carobnewyork, the face behind the pinky ring I am always wearing has launched a site! You can now purchase the handmade pinky ring or Snoopy necklace. More details saved to my IG highlight. And you can use the discount code: LADYINRED10 for $$ off ❤️
ON THE MENU
If I’m going to do one thing, it’s eat with the season. My favorite day of the month is the 1st, when Brightland drops their monthly seasonal produce graphic. Fall squash, particularly delicata, can do no wrong in my eyes. This is actually the first season I’ve tried honeynut squash (I don’t know where I’ve been) and it may beat butternut squash for me? The jury is still out, but I’ll happily eat both, especially if you’re offering them to me as a soup.
I’ve also been introduced to the warm and fresh Costco chocolate chip cookies and I’m never looking back. There is one sitting next to my laptop as I type this. Don’t forget the soft serve vanilla ice cream while you’re at it!
Moving into the colder months, I also begin to swap out my yogurt bowls for oatmeal bowls. Recently I’ve been making pumpkin spice oats with caramelized pears or persimmons. ‘Tis the season!

THE BEST GIRLS TRIP
All I’ve done the last week is wax lyrical about my most recent stay at the Asher in Wisconsin. The stay was through Field & Lake, and they have a another home called the Fox House.
I’m telling you this was the most peaceful/relaxing stay by the lake I’ve ever had. I never truly thought I wanted a lake house until I stayed here and I cannot wait to make another trip. There is a giveaway on my Instagram for one free weeknight and I have a discount if you book! DIANA15 🫶🏾

ALL THINGS BEAUTY
Let’s get the big one out of the way, my Sephora sale picks. Heavy on the lip products of course, but a more recent notable favorite of mine has been the Ilia Beauty Base Face Milk. The moisture addition has been wonderful for my skin, especially as it gets colder outside. Will be repurchasing.
I haven’t been bothered to get my nails done all year unless I had an event such as a wedding, so I’ve been doing them at home using Essie Gel Couture. My favorite light pink is Fairy Tailor, my favorite red is Rock The Runway, and my favorite dark moody color is Model Clicks. I usually do 2-3 coats depending on the color, and a top coat. It lasts at least ten days and you take it off like a regular polish, no UV lights or anything :)

And that’s all for October! Any monthly favorites, interests, newness, happenings for you? Anything you’re looking forward to in November?
Here’s to a good month x
