Hopefully the next time I’m writing about an extended stay in New York, it will be a permanent move.
Before that happens I wanted to spend a bit of time there, a test run for the future.
I stayed in Williamsburg and was well-acquainted with a few other areas in Brooklyn during my time. My intention was not to run through an endless checklist of everything I wanted to eat, see, and do in New York. I just wanted to be. See friends, walk around (city bike if I dared), grab ice cream in the evenings, pretend I had a local coffee shop even just for two weeks, find my favorite workout studio, and avoid tears while apartment hunting.
If I took you through all fourteen days pizza slice by pizza slice, you’d be reading until the sun set, so here’s a condensed version.
One more thing! I really did enjoy all of the spots mentioned so it was hard not to say they were all my favs. I’d go back to any and all of them x
FAVS:
Margot: 10/10! A big thanks to my friend Heather for the rec, I loved every plate. Do not skip on the dessert!
Shinn East: Stumbled into this one with a friend and I am so glad we did. It was a fabulous $69 omakase and I can’t wait to go back.
Sailor: Stalking Resy for a reservation was well worth it. You will find me here again! Get the chicken to split if you go with someone.
Thai Diner: I need to go back with a group of people so I can try more main dishes! From my time there already, I can tell I’d love it.
L’artusi: A known fav and I did thoroughly enjoy the pasta, but can we talk about the cookies? I know they say go for the olive oil cake, but the cookies knocked it out of the park for me in comparison.
Oh Boy: Count me in for the breakfast burrito on the patio any day!
This isn’t even fair because dessert is my FAVORITE dish. You simply can’t go wrong.
Caffe Panna: They have a changing menu and I dream about the day I live in NY so I can try the rotating menu whenever I want.
L’Appartement 4F: Also dreaming about their croissants!
Librae: If they have the peaches and whipped goat cheese croissant when you’re there, please get it.
From Lucie: I want to host an event/party/dinner just so I can have From Lucie cater the desserts. Specifically the cakes!
Radio Bakery: Hands down one of the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve had in my life. I cannot explain to you how much weight that sentence carries. Also delish sandwiches!
FAVS:
Kijitora: The strawberry matcha was so good I wanted to get it every day, but decided I should probably try other coffee shops.
Rhythm Zero: All around a cool coffee shop.
ppl: If you like plants, you’ll love this coffee shop. I regret not trying their matcha, it looks divine!
Sauced and Casetta: Loved the vibe of both wine bars! Casetta also had bites and felt like more of a cafe which was great for a daytime stop.
FAVS:
Club Vintage: Two floors and a very cool collection.
Rosemary Home: I did indeed want to buy everything in this store and took home the shell necklace pictured here.
Duo NYC: My favorite jean will always be a pair of worn in vintage Levi’s, and this shop had plenty to choose from.
Cloak and Dagger: I was pleasantly surprised by the selection here.
Designers Collab: Such a cool spot. They have a coffee shop in the front, patio in back, and in between is a store with vintage furniture, clothing, jewelry, and other great finds! I picked up a few rings here.
Million Goods: So happy to have stumbled upon Million Goods. They sell some menswear, but turn into a wine bar/music spot later in the day and night They also have a decently sized back patio. If I were to go back to NY, this is top of my list to go back to.
FAVS:
The Hoxton: I’m a Hoxton gal through and through what can I say! I always recommend their disloyalty program, because it also includes non-Hoxton properties.
The Arlo: I have to give a shoutout to Arlo because the BK location has a gym and rooftop pool!
I don’t think you can go wrong with markets & such in any city! Just sharing in case you’re looking for something to do, or somewhere to stroll.
Oh, and everything I wore? Saved here.
xoxo
A future NY resident *she says with fingers crossed*
Move here it’s the BEST! I live in Fort Greene and love it. Best of everything
Love this! I have so many more places to add to my Google Maps list for NYC. I’ve never been but I hope to change that soon.
